Types of Safari in Kaziranga

Elephant Safari

Going on an Elephant Safari in Kaziranga National Park is the best way to explore the forest. Elephant safari is a nice way and if you choose this safari then you will sit on the back of an elephant, around 9 feet above the ground. Locals like this ride a lot and they believe that tourism in Kaziranga National Park is incomplete without riding an elephant. This safari is best for travellers because it lets you move around freely in the open areas. If you compare the rides of Kaziranga then let me tell you that the elephant ride is better than gypsy rides because you will explore the jungle without the disturbing sound of gypsy safari.

Kaziranga National Park is popular among people for having a large population of one-horned rhinos, dense forests, and tall grass called elephant grass. The best way to see all the different animals in this wild park is by going on an elephant ride. Through this safari, you can enjoy the scenery with the sightings of animals in their natural habitat without disturbing them.

Elephant safari is a famous one but the drawback of this safari is that it happens only during the early morning hours. This ride will take you inside the jungle for around 1 or 1 & ½ hours to explore the area. During the morning Elephant safari, you get the chance to go through the thick forests, cross rivers, and follow rough trails, of this park which is exciting for people who love adventure.

Gypsy Safari

Another way to explore the wild animals of Kaziranga National Park is by riding on a gypsy safari. A gypsy is a four-wheeler gypsy that has an open roof. If we compare gypsy safari and elephant safari then gypsy safari is faster and easier to roam inside the jungle. Many people come to Kaziranga to enjoy the experience of the gypsy Safari ride. Both wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers like to go on gypsy rides because they are faster and cover a lot of ground in a short time.

The travellers need to book the permit before going on a ride and it is advised that you should get that in advance. During the gypsy safari in Kaziranga National Park, you can only go on specific routes or you can say paths. Those routes are decided by the forest officials and the safari happens in different zones.

People coming to this wild park can enjoy this ride in the morning and evening and it will take around 2 to 3 hours to explore the area of the Kaziranga. Both of the safari timing offers different chances to see wildlife in their natural habitat.
