The Safari Gates of the Wild Kaziranga
1. Central Zone Gate - Kohora Gate
This zone of the park is in the Kohora town of Golaghat District, Assam. To reach this Kaziranga safari gate of the park, you can come to Kohora town. This one is located near the National Highway 37 (NH-37), and many hotels, resorts, and tourist facilities are around Kohora. You can reach the Kohora gate or town by taxis, private cars, and even local buses. This gate is one of the best choices because it has many accommodation options nearby, unlike the other zones, where staying options are limited.
2. Western Zone Gate - Bagori Gate
This zone of Kaziranga is in the Bagori of Nagaon District, Assam. This one is on the western side of Kaziranga and is accessible from NH-37. To reach this Kazirnga gate, you can take a private vehicle or a taxi from the nearby towns. You first have to come to the Kohora town and then from there you can take a vehicle to the Bagori Gate for the safari. Buses, taxis, and self-driving cars are commonly used to reach the Bagori Gate. If you are staying in Kohora, local transport options are also available.
3. Eastern Zone Gate - Agaratoli Gate
This zone of Kaziranga is in the Agartoli of the Bokakhat District, Assam. This Kaziranga safari gate is on the eastern side of Kaziranga National Park. It remains less crowded when compared to Kohora and Bagori, but this one is also well connected by NH-37. You first have to come to the Bokakhat town, which is around 15km from the Agartoli gate. Tourists can take taxis, private vehicles, or buses to reach this gate of Kaziranga National Park.
4. Burapahar Zone Gate - Ghorakhati Gate
This zone of Kaziranga is in the Ghorakhati Village of the Nagaon District, Assam. This Kaziranga safari gate is located in the Burapahar Range of Kaziranga on the westernmost side of the park. It is well connected to NH-37, and you can come here from the nearby towns. First, you have to come to Nagaon town, which is located around 40km from the Ghorakhati gate of the park. From there, you can take private taxis, cabs, or self-driven cars to reach the Ghorakhati gate of Kaziranga National Park.
