Attractions Near Kaziranga National Park
TEA GARDEN
There are many tea gardens near Kaziranga and these tea gardens are famous all over World. Many visitors like to visit Hathkhuli, Borchappori, and a few other Tea Gardens. When visiting Kaziranga National Park, visitors must visit these tea plantations that should not be missed.
KAKOCHANG WATERFALL
This is another popular picnic site near Kaziranga National Park. You can see the historical Numaligarh remnants from here. Another name for these waterfalls is Kakojan and it's a nice place to visit for taking good pictures and seeing beautiful views. From Bokakhat, the waterfall base is around 12 to 14 km and you can trek for approximately 04 kilometres to reach there.
ORCHID BIODIVERSITY PARK
The Kaziranga National Orchid Park is a famous place among tourists, which covers an area of 6 acres. This park is just a distance of 2 km from Kaziranga and is located in Durgapur. Here you can find more than 500 different kinds of wild orchids, 46 different kinds of bamboo, 12 different types of cane, 132 different kinds of sour fruits and green veggies, with other flora species. Nature lovers should visit this park to learn about the wide range of flora of Assam.
DEOPARBAT RUINS
The Ruins of Deoparbat are found near Kaziranga National Park. This place is located in Golaghat District which is 5 kilometers from Numaligarh. People also know this place as Deopahar which means 2 hills. On top of these hills, you can find an old temple with broken statues scattered around. These broken statues show their rich history. Climbing these hills is not an easy task, but once you’ve reached you can see amazing views of the surroundings.
HOOLLONGAPAR GIBBON WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
This wildlife sanctuary is located in the Jorhat district of Assam and it houses India’s only Ape family- The Hoolock Gibbons. This is the only sanctuary in India that is named after Gibbons. Seven out of fifteen apes live here and those are - western hoolock gibbon, Bengal slow loris, stump-tailed macaque, northern pig-tailed macaque, eastern Assamese macaque, rhesus macaque, and capped langur. Apart from them, a wide variety of bird species and snakes can also be found here.
