    Kaziranga Elephant Safari Booking

    Peaceful Elephant Safari

Elephant Safari is a fun and peaceful ride that takes place inside the natural surroundings of Kaziranga National Park. This park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is famous among people because of its one-horned Rhinoceros. Along with Rhinos, this park is home to other animals also such as wild water buffalo, swamp deer, Indian elephant, Indian rhino, Indian leopard, Bengal tiger, Pangolin, etc. and you can spot them by going on an Elephant safari inside the park.

Elephant safari happens in only 2 areas of the park and this ride is much better than the gypsy safari because it provides a sighting experience in silence with the sounds of the Jungle. In simple words, Gypsy Safari takes place inside gypsy which produces the sounds of a machine whereas the elephant safari happens on the back of an elephant, thus, you can see the animals while sitting on an animal inside the Jungle. This safari is much liked by kids and they enjoy it a lot.

Elephant safari will let you explore the flora and fauna of the park from a closer view because elephants are a natural part of the Jungle and they can go close to other animals without scaring them away. It’s a peaceful way of exploration as it happens during the morning time so you can listen to the soothing sounds of birds in the background while spotting animals and exploring the area of Kaziranga.

Elephants are considered a safer and more reliable option for doing a safari inside the park. They are bigger in height and give a chance of spotting from a height of 9 to 10 feet above the ground. This safari takes people to the remotest and densest area of the forests which cannot be explored by other modes of transport. This is the safest and the best kind of safari which happens in Kaziranga National Park.

Indian Elephants of the wild Kaziranga

Kaziranga is a wild place in Assam and it has a good number of elephants in its area. The Indian Elephants that are found in Kaziranga are one of the three Asian-recognized species and are native to mainland Asia. Since 1986, Indian elephants have been listed as endangered animals and they are threatened by habitat loss, degradation, and fragmentation.

However, they can be found in Kaziranga and people can enjoy riding on these elephants. Indian elephants generally reach a shoulder height of between 2 to 3.5 meters and their weight is between 2,000 to 5,000 kg. The female elephants are smaller than the males and usually, they have short or no tusks.

All the Asiatic elephants of India come under the elephant conservation project and now their population is restricted to the Elephant Reserves and protected areas of India. Other than Kaziranga, this elephant can be found in other Indian National Parks.
